I was thinking that I was on holidays from blogging until the new year except I took the Vicklets to our friend Leonie's house yesterday and there is no way that I couldn't share it with you.
Leonie is a artistic genius. Her house is no way ordinary. It never could be because every festive season she transforms her entire house into Narnia. I'm not entirely sure why other than her love for the stories of Narnia and it's magic and magic is created indeed.
It starts at the driveway where you are met with a wardrobe to enter. FOR REAL.
Then you are bombarded with a sea of snow covered Christmas trees and a giant lion and dazzling decorative features as far as the eye can see. My boys were in some kind of unfamiliar reality wondering why and how but also just WOW!
That same reaction isn't just reserved for children. Every adult that enters Leonie's Narnia is captured by the brilliance and magic of Narnia.
Leonie's artistic skill can be witnessed in every single backdrop, chair and prop in Narnia. All of which have been painted by Leonie including this giant sized Narnia book that is actually the doorway to the house.
(do you love the Vicklets Christmassy get ups that they are totally going to hate me for in ten years??)
Another wardrobe and another dazzling scene of Narnia
I mean, spectacular christmassy magic right??? This is the patio of an average house in suburbia!!! It's like a secret Narnian theme park that only a few of us know where THE wardrobe is to enter. I can't help but feel like it needs to be celebrated.
The work is extraordinary. Weeks and weeks of meticulous set up. Leonie drags white carpet in for the snow floor, she paints every window to look like it's snowed and she sets up 47 Christmas trees! FORTY SEVEN!
And then she started up the snow machine!
We were in a Christmas Nirvana, 300%. Such a kiddy thrill welled up in all of us.
A truly special kind of happiness dwells at Leonie's Narnia. I am grateful we have such a (completely bonkers) creative and imaginative friend that is willing to share the magic with us.
With that I'd like to say Merry Christmas to you all! I hope you find the magic and true spirit of Christmas wherever you may spend it. May a Narnian magic swell in your hearts.
